Sorry if this have been posted before. http://www.getlisted.me.uk/SEO/ Pls kindly have a look and comfirm the statement. Remark : i am not the owner or webmaster of getlisted.me.uk.
I've seen that before and it does look kind of plausible BUT those values are only an educated guess. The only people who can confirm the accuracy are Google - they aren't going to come on here and do that!
Makes sense, but of course can't be confirmed. Think of it (PR) as a Richter Scale based model that has to change based upon entire changing size of the web.
It's an average that is based on the assumption that there are an average of 40 links on each page that links to you. Those numbers could drastically change if you were to obtain links with far fewer outgoing links.
It makes sense, but I don't entirely believe it. I have 2 links from PR 8 sites now (one used to be a PR 9 ), and a bunch from PR 7. This would say I should be a PR 7 at the next update. Will let you know.
Well, kinda of. That's on average. It also depends on how those pages got their PR's (having to do with link depth recursion) and the number of other links on the pages. But, yeah, as long as those 2 PR8's stay PR8's next update and the pages have under 60 links or so per page, I would also expect you to be a PR7. Good luck with it, fingers crossed for ya. -Michael
It doesnt exactly jive with the kenkia table but its close - this table say 15 links from pr5 to get a PR5, kenkia says 18.5 - not too far off, probably not bad for ballpark figures Th e kenkia table is listed in thread /showthread.php?t=278570 - i dont know how to link or am not allowed to or something
That table looks about right to me. Of course, the quality of the links also matters. I've seen some sites have high PR just because they were linked to by several high PR authority sites.
One more thing - those tables may be rough guides, but I have seen sites get a PR5 from a single PR6 link - This may be a "low" pr5 compared to a "high" pr6 (eg PR5 verging on PR4 and a PR6 verrgin on a PR7) but Who knows - the authoritative state of the linking site and the number outbound links probably has a LOT to do with it. In fact it is a well known fact that PR is distributed to the outbound links, so if there is a PR8 site with only say - 5 outbound links and one is to your site, it would be worth MUCH more than a PR8 site with 80 or 100 outbound links. Im going to write a new post about this right now...
You are right. You can also get a PR5 link from a single other PR5 link, depending on the way it's built. -Michael
get a PR5 from a single PR6 link yes,i found a site only got a backlink from a PR5 homepage(only one outerlink) got a pr5. however it depends on how strong this PR5 is ,may be it's a PR 5.99999.
In this scale each PR jump is about 5.5 times larger than the last. This is just a wild guess but I would say it's a little closer to 7.
I think its not very good indication as it very much depends on quality of links 100's of pr0 and 1 evan 2 are not going to be worth more than a couple PR 5 and 6 incoming links
I think that post is a very good indication of your inability to read charts.* The number of links is along the top, the PR of those links is along the left side. So, according to that chart, to get a PR5 you would need either: 13,442 PR1 links OR 2,444 PR2 links OR 444 PR3 links, etc. -Michael * Just teasing, btw
Everything you see posted on the web is pure theory. You can only get close to the truth but you will never now it. Or only perhaps if an upset google employ will reveal the secret. But even in this case google would change the algorythm in a few hours. That's why they rule. One thing is certain though, a PR is influenced by many factors not only buy a number of links.
nice stats but does not really explain how a domain that I bought about a year ago and has been sitting there with no site has a PR3 from being only linked from one of my other PR3 pages.
Dude I read the chart just fine. Please tell me who is going to get 13,442 PR1 or 2,444 PR2 etc links?? no one is! Tthey are all going to be different so this chart is a crap indication as you will never get near the amount indicated.
So, you're saying that the chart is useless, cause in reality I might end up with say, 21 PR4's, 110 PR3's, and 1200 PR2's, and the chart doesn't help in that scenario? -Michael
