Page Rank and Google Search Engine

One of my websites is still brand new (38 days old:)), but it's got a Page Rank 2 already from Google. However my website doesn't appear on Google's first 5 pages on any keywords I target. Can anyone explain why?

I always thought that when I get a page rank, my website would appear on Google's first 5 pages (at least). I also notice that there's another website who's page rank is lower than mine, but it's located on Google's first 2 pages search result! How is this possible? I'm so confused about it..

Other info: I target on keywords whose Result/Search ratio is around 50 to 150 and competitor is less than 1 million.

    Thank you so much;)

It doesn't mean that when your site has a high PR then it appears in Google's firstpage.
You have to consider the keywords you were using.
You said less than a million is the competition of keyword.
Your site is still new so it need to be promoted first before it appears in google.
have you done those techniques used in promoting sites?
like social bookmarking, blog commenting? etc...

I guess you have to do it first.

Yes, my website is still new (less than 40 days old), but I was really excited when it's got page rank 2:). I do plan to socialize it with numerous social bookmarkings (however I've done only with 2 of the best ones so far). I plan to make at least 50 posts in my website and now there're still 32 posts:).

I delay socialize it with numerous social bookmarkings since I want to wait till I've finished making those 50 posts. What do you think? Should I wait or just go ahead.

Another question, is socializing my website the only way to get my website ranked on the first page of Google (since I'm pretty sure I've done most of SEO on page within my website)

Thank you so much for your advice.:)

    You can go ahead...
one thing i would say is that: HAVE PATIENCE...
gaining page Rank from google is a good achievement.
If you'll start it to socialize with Bookmarking sites that's a good idea but try to use the appropriate keyword and be sure also that the keyword you're using has less Keyword Competition.

    thanks...
    Good Luck to you..
    Keep it up

What if I made you a money-back guarantee (just for you and only for review purposes) that your site will be on that first page for a keyword you choose, any keyword, plus PR4-above without us adding content on your site or optimizing your site or doing article marketing campaigns or or or (that's your job), for 4 weeks at $XXX --- name your price.

    Thanks.

This really all depends on your niche and what keywords you are targeting.

I mean some of the main things that Google looks for is the following:

    • Domain Age
    • Back Links
    • Quality of backlinks

Now, check out some of the sites that are above you, and see what their domain age is, this could be a huge reason why you are not appearing on the first page.

Next, take a look at what sites your backlinks are coming from. If you are just getting links from directories and stuff like that then you need to put more quality back links in. By this I mean find sites that are relative to your niche and do link exchanges with those types of sites and this will help your rankings as well.

    Myths on Backlinks

Myth 1: Search engines slap sites that build hundreds or more dofollow backlinks overnight.

Wrong. Search engines can't stop people from linking their sites/blogs/forum posts/etc. to great content, so if a site has great content, search engines know the sites with great content will be naturally linked by other site/blog/forum/etc. pages.

Great content is usually comprised of breaking news (take the case of the site that published a detailed summary of the Bill-Monica scandal, which gained thousands upon thousands of backlinks overnight).

Myth 2: Search engines penalize sites/blogs/forums/etc. with backlinks on other dofollow site/blog/forum/etc. pages about specific niches/industries irrelevant to the niche/industry of the site.

Wrong. Just like the Bill-Monica scandal, more than 95% of the backlinks gained by the site overnight operated in niches/industries irrelevant to the site. Again, if a site has great content, and it's the only site that has it (or only a limited number of sites has the content), search engines know people will naturally link their site/blog/forum/etc. pages to the content page of that site.

Myth 3: Search engines take a long time to properly complete PR, site rank and keyword popularity indexing.

Wrong. If, for instance, a keyword is searched 50 times per day, search engine spiders immediately crawl the first search results (usually high PR high traffic sites relevant to the anchor texts used for the backlinks ) and crawl the other site/blog/forum/etc. pages relevant to the anchor text used for the backlinks then move down to crawl the others as well as its anchor text-relevant linked site/blog/forum/etc. pages.

Search engine spiders, while crawling site/blog/forum/etc. pages, take note of the PR of the site which links to the other site/blog/forum/etc. pages. It considers this link as a "vote" of the site to the linked site/blog/forum pages, and the weight of the "vote" is dependent on the PR of the site. Of course, the search engine spiders also consider the anchor text used for the backlinks.

This means search engine spiders, while crawling a page, instantly index that page along with the internal and external pages linked to that page and share PR love on every page linked by that page ---> external or internal pages (there's another myth that internal dynamic pages don't have the same PR as the static pages of the site/blog/forum/etc., to which search engine spiders share PR love where it's due, so when the static pages contain anchor-text relevant internal links, that PR love is shared).

So, the main problem there would be those PR checkers that don't have those search engine spiders to update them, and this means the search engines will know all about the PR love and indexed pages instantly since the spiders came and actually work for them, but those PR checkers won't.

Don't believe these myths ---> you're just restricting yourself from building more backlinks that count.

How would a backlink on Harvard, University of Washington, etc. .edu sites sound?

It would sound good, but if you get it, it'll work much better for you.

Remember, not only do most of these high PR (PR6-above) sites have... um... high PR --- they also have massive amounts of daily quality traffic, and a backlink on these sites plus solid content contributions useful for these people will help you gain loyal quality traffic --- large volumes of it.

PR doesn't always equal high rankings. Just keep building links and using anchor text for the search terms you want to rank well at.

"PR doesn't always equal high rankings."

True, but an effectively SEOd site with "great" content voted through relevant keyword backlinks placed on dofollow sites/blogs/forums/etc. with high PR and high traffic by the traffic themselves and by contributors of "great" content will provide high rankings and high traffic as well as high PR.

Also, an effectively SEOd site with "great" content voted through relevant keyword backlinks placed on nofollow sites/blogs/forums/etc. with high PR and high traffic by the traffic themselves and by contributors of "great" content will provide high traffic as well as high rankings because the people comprising the traffic of those nofollow high traffic high PR sites would "vote" the site of the contributor of "great" content by placing keyword backlinks on their dofollow or nofollow sites/blogs/forums/etc, and since some of these sites with relevant keyword backlinks would be dofollow sites/blogs/forums/etc. with high traffic and high PR, the process repeats itself over and over again for the benefit of the site being backlinked to ---> all for its high PR, high trafic and high ranking campaigns.

Building backlinks for keywords you want to rank high at without:

===> making a list of niche-relevant and niche-irrelevant dofollow and nofollow sites/blogs/forums/etc. with high traffic and high PR that accept contributors of "great" content as well as...

===> without "great" content contributions on those sites as well as creating a profile page with relevant keyword backlinks as well as relevant keyword backlinks on the contributed content whenever necessary for the traffic of these sites/blogs/forums/etc. to gain more value from your backlinked content pages and the "great" content shared by the contributors...

    ===> just won't work.

surely a bulletproof way of working hard and not getting results that count (results that count are those you need and nothing else) would be by blindly building relevant keyword backlinks on whichever site/blog/forum/etc. with whatever PR, traffic and niche-relevance. Who knows ---> you can probably get "lucky": some of those sites (which were blindly selected in terms of traffic, PR and niche-relevance) would have high traffic, high PR and the highest niche-relevance for your site, thereby making your gamble worth the risk., right?

    Precisely.

I believe business is all about controlling all relevant factors that can affect the "financial stability" and "growth" of my business, and making "blind" decisions all while even implementing those "blind" decisions in business just won't satisfy my business belief since I'd be entrusting my business' "financial stability" and "growth" in those "blind" decisions, which I'd never do ===> not in this lifetime.

I also believe getting the highest returns in business is what "good" business is all about, so though the business opportunities with the highest returns will also have the highest risks, the main thing I'd have to do is:

===> do anything it takes just to reduce those risks to even below the "manageable" threshhold (based on industry standards), which won't be attainable when:

===> I decide to make "blind" decisions thinking it'd be for the "good" of my business.

PR and ranking are 2 diffrent things
Actualy PR is just a number (i called it a bad joke for noobs) and nothing more

38 days to rank in top 10 is way to fast it takes months

simple its because there will be other websites that have an overall better quality score than your website. e.g. better backlinks, regular content, specific keywords,
what about the rank on other search engines?

"don't just stare at it...eat it"

A couple things-PR makes absolutely no diffrence within the SERPs. The only thing it gauges is the amount/quality of websites linking to you. To rank well within the SERPs you must do a couple things. On your webpage place the keyword or term in the metas title, description, and keywords. Next make sure it is in your heading and the first couple sentences of your content. Then you should move onto the anchor tags both onsite and offsite here is an example of what you should be doing both when creating navigation and when offsite link buliding
    <a href="http://www.yoursite.com">your keywords</a>
    Code (markup):
. When building links make sure to rotate your keywords for the best affect.

I would recommend off page SEO works to reach 1st page. But it will take months for sure.
