Hi guy I have been running a Uk based Football news, horse racing website now for three months. My current PR is 4: I get about 2-6 UV per day, almost none from Search Engines! What am I doing wrong?
What you are doing wrong is that you care about PR. PR is simply a measure of the number of links to your site, thats it! If all your links link to "Bob joe is a nerd" then you could have a PR of 10 and no one will find you. You need to analyze a lot of things including backlink anchor text, site content, internal linking, title and h1,h2,h3 tags, etc.. I only see about 50 backlinks reported by Yahoo which means if I where you I would add more backlinks with the right anchor text.
You need to build backlinks to increase your organic traffic from search engines. You also need to make sure these backlinks are from sites\pages related to yours. They should also contain the correct anchor text. Try building more backlinks from sites related to yours. Try to get the anchor text you want used, make sure the anchor text is exactly the same keyword\phrase you want to rank for. Below is a example of were anchor text is in a backlink. <A href="http://www.nfl.com">NFL Football</a> Code (markup): NFL Football is the anchor text in the above hyperlink. Do not spam your anchor text with keywords.
1. Have you built a proper keyword list? 2. Have you started a proper campaign in order to promote your website? 3. Do you offer valuable information to your visitors? Only if you answer YES to all 3 questions you will start seeing visitors.
By more traffic cant increes PR vise versa also. You can increes page rank by making more back links. may be your key word is much copatative try to increes the density of your keyword. can u tell me how u get PR4 . Thanks
