"Page One on Google"...Every time?

Last year I wrote a book on getting to page one of google in under a day. Ok, not a bestseller but it worked.

Every website I put up I got to that revered spot in no time at all and everytime I searched a phrase for my site, there it was, on that Google page one.

I, we, have been lied to perhaps.

If one has a Google account, and one searches for a certain phrase or keyword, let's say, ducks, then whatever link you click on relating to ducks is stored in your google account history. So, the next time you do a search for ducks that same website will appear on page one.

So, the same goes for your new site, it will always appear on page one of google regardless of it's actual rankings.

I deleted my google 'history' because I want to know the truth.

    It hurts:mad:

Google has had personalised search for a long time now for people who have a google account, and a earlier this year also included personalised search by default for ALL users. No wonder your book was not a best seller when it did not cover a very basic thing like that *sigh* Before you write a book about google it is best to at least know some of the basic things about it ;) although clickbank has many e-books by people who don't have a clue :(

To disable personalised search even when not logged in you need to click the link, top right on the search results page that says "Web History" , and reset it ever time you clear your cookies as well.

99% of the time any book saying "page one of google" is at best a scam, unless it is for some obscure term that no one would normally search for.
Anyone can get to page one for "purple ducks with a right wooden leg" but trying to do the same for "used cars" would be far from easy.

Sadly there is no easy or straight forward way to be number 1 on the search engines. Just hard work and perseverance. I have realized that in my efforts so far.

Any chance you have an e-copy of your book...I would like to read, not so much for the knowledge but just to see what you actually wrote about!

Yup that is the truth, if you want to see the true ranking you need to "DISABLE" customizations based on search activity.

You can do it here: Web History

So what was your book about? Constantly type in your search query into Google until your site is #1? :(

You can get to page 1 easily, if you focus on a lot of long tail keywords that can easily be ranked, even with lesser traffic if they all add up, you will have a pretty solid traffic.

Its very difficult to get on first page, it requires a lot of hard work to do, don't get betrayed by G personalized search.
