Page Limit / Content Disappearing?

    Hey,

Earlier, I had a problem with some plugins. I disabled them all, and it looks like all's working good and well.

About 24hrs later, I'm now having trouble with my pages.
When I make a new one, all the other pages disappear. (Albeit maybe 1 - which has the "comment" option disappeared also).

Is there a limit to the amount of pages I can have or something? So far:

    8,161 Posts
    333 Pages
    328 Categories

Roughly 150 pages are all under "Anime-List", which is a page, as well.
I cannot, however, post anymore pages. I'd like to post atleast another 130 at present - but I can't.

[note: I tried posting on wordpress forums, but they're no help there - no responses in hours.]

Can anyone help me out, please?
    Much appreciated!
    Regards,

I think your best bet is to hire someone to find out what's wrong, as it sounds like a very strange bug that can't just be solved on this forum alone.

There is no limit of number of pages and posts. Go ahead and disable all your plugins, Clean up your Wp-Options table and then enable plugins one by one. You will definitely able to post content.

Wordpress has a history of being unable to handle large amounts of Pages (Please note the capital 'P' in there) as the urls of the Pages are stored within the database as a single record. I know it was worked on recently but not sure where they stand on it. Haven't seen any recent feedback on the issue.

But we're talking about 500 or more Pages.

Posts aren't affected as those urls are matched up against the permalink structure and the urls aren't stored as a single database record. (They're stored but that's for a different reason.)

I'm wondering about a mucked up plugin as well. Try renaming the plugins subdirectory and create a new Page as suggested up above.

Also double check the database directly and see if the missing Page is in there and just not showing up within Wordpress.

I'm having the same problem periodically. My blog is over three years old so I have a fair number of posts, but I could never figured what caused the bug.

For example, I'd be writing a post and it would be void of content as soon as I'd save it. Or other weird bugs, all fairly similar.

I wish I could help you but I never got an answered for that!

That sounds like database problem. Try running a table repair, or ask your host to do it
