The impressions will go up.. Do this several thousand times a day and you might get a nasty email from them.

Yes, the impressions will go up. If it is few times then it is ok, but don't do it lots or you might get into trouble..

I am confused they do not allow me to visit my own site?

Besides impressions do not mean a thing, why would they send any email?

Visiting you own page isn't going to get you banned or even in trouble. I won't even explain how stupid it would be if you weren't allowed to visit you own site on a regular basis.

Regularly clicking the ads on your own site on the other hand CAN get you banned. Best not to clicks ads on your own sites at all, especially when you don't have much traffic. (Just rightclick ads > Copy Link Location > extract adurl > paste URL in browser)

I don't think you will be punished for own impressions. At the time I had AdSense on my forums there were at least 500 impressions made by me and nothing happened. It is ok with Google if you don't click your own ads.

    You get paid on some ads on a cPM (cost per 1,000 impressions) basis. As stated in the Adsense TOS;
...including without limitation through any clicks or impressions (i) originating from Your IP addresses or computers under Your control...
You CAN get into trouble for generating 'false' impressions. Obviously this does not mean that you cannot visit your own site. But, as i said in my original post, if you were to reload a page or pages several thousand times per day, Google may view this as invalid impressions.

I would not bother wasting the time to fuss with it, unless you're viewing pages thousands of times each day. It's just not an issue..

There is a way to block your IP but like Tearabite said it's not necessary.
If your pages are in ASP or PHP or some other scripting language, you can make it so that when you're viewing the webpage, it doesn't show the google ads if the IP of the visitor matches yours. The SERVER variable for that is REMOTE_ADDR -- ask a tech for more info.
But again, it's definitely NOT necessary!

yeah like above I wouldn't worry however you can always send adsense an email and tell them your ip stating you wish it to be excluded from the stats. I havnt personally done this but have read other people doing it.

You'd need to have a site without traffic which you visit over and over again 24/7 to get in trouble for visiting your own site.

edit your hosts file in windows :)

    Example :

    go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\
    select your hosts file
    open it with notepad
add this line at the end of it : 127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com

you will never see the Google Ads again ! and you can refresh your website till you go crazzy ! :D

If you wanna see the Google Ads again... remove or edit the line you added.

Good luck with it ! :D

Yes, it will go up and don't do it alot of you may get a ban on your account. It is sometimes best to have the ads disabled on your browsing of the site.

It's not the fact that you will only get your account disabled, but you will also loose these CPM advertisers from your site as they only advertise to get back more than what they first invested and if you keep browsing your site then they will not achieve this on your site and will then stop advertising on your site and move onto another site.

By doing this, one won't be able to see Google ads on any website. Is there anyway to block ads on your own sites only?

Rep given to you for that. Let's just hope it works when I try it. lol

I feel this will be a better way of doing it rather than implementing a script into your site or customing a script around your ads using if statements and things.
