I'm new to SEO a couple weeks only. When I first started my new job my employer told me that he already had 3 websites completed and was working on another one. They are all for the same company however, and the new one's content is being created by looking at the newest completed site. The site is then changed to be fairly unique and follow more up to date site optimization techniques. Most of the pages will be highly similar if you summarized them, however the words are very different, including titles, links, order, headings, keywords, and they are even hosted on different servers in different countries. I'm to make recommendations to my employer in the next week and a half on what we need to do to achieve a higher ranking. What if anything should I tell him about the page duplication he is doing now?
You do not need to worry about duplication as long as the content is different In order to achieve higher rankings, the content has to be updated often and get more organic (content related) links to your site. Beyond the two above points, the following are some of the additional tweaks you can consider to boost up your SERP: 1. Increase Text-to-Code ratio. 2. Keep the page simple (no flashy navigation menu because Search Engine prefer text navigation links). Feel free to visit my site in sig to learn more useful techniques
Don't duplicate, Take the time to change a little and even a something different. Some time it'll damage your website.
