Page doesn't load or loads after second click?

Sometimes I need to click twice on a link on my site for the page to get loaded.

The first time only affects browsers status bar and after a long time I get "page not found" error, but if I click on the link another time or referesh "page not found", the page would be loaded reletively quickly.

I believe this is a problem with the host server. It is probably slow or something. What do you thing?
