Hi I am running a asp.net vb.net related articles website. it is currently getting 150-200 unique visits per day. but the CTR is very low like <0.5 % (i have checked this in monthly report) and some days no clicks as well. For 200 visits no clicks is still ok or should i need to change the locations i hava top banner, left side skyscrapper and an inline rectangle. all are doing equallly almost. Website is a white background content with black text. adsense is white background with blue color text. I have tried changing for various locations but no improvements(or very less, that i am currently in). Please advice me on this whether it is because of the niche i am being in(vb,asp programming ) or should i need to improve my adsense.
What are you using to track the click thru rate? Could you maybe give the URL so that I can have a look at the site?
Put some ads between your results displayed! First thing I noticed is that my eyes are seeing the content in the middle first. I almost did not see the ads on the top and left side. Remember this, in your niche people are looking for solutions. Try and put ads between the content that offers solutions to your visitors problems Hope this gives you some ideas
i will try the inline ads to move to the center can i move the ads from lower left to upper left for skyscrapper will it improve my adsense.
Maybe you should try some CPA ads on your site. Apply for an account at www.cj.com and apply for some ads that would complement your site. That should help you increase earnings. Don't just rely on adsense.
The niche is affecting the result because vb,asp programming is webmaster related niche, and most of them dont click. Besides, check your traffic source whether is targeted or not. Besides, you might try image only ads see whether your CTR improved
Hi i exactly expected this answer to start the discussion onthis. I felt the same while my target audience is developers purely. so 60-80% of the visitors will not click on ads. I have tried the ImageOnly ads which display inline ads no improvement.(i tried this last year) last week i put an image in the bottom of one of my ads. i felt like i was getting few clicks. i felt a slight improvement. Based on this can i conclude that, my niche may not be good for adsense You can review one of my page and advise GridView Custom Paging Using ObjectDataSource note:Unfortunately i can not place any ads inside my body content as the content is dynamic. i will consider this if it is strongly recomended than any other advices

Its is the niche for clicks that's for sure. You are dealing with people who understand ads and how they work. I find attracting illeterate people give a better CTR (seriously). Every 100 people I usually get a few clicks!

You should consider doing more SEO on your site, for example the site titles and descriptions. This should attract the right people.
hi these are all traffic related advice i have, i made title tag, h1, h2, keywords in url. i am doing some link building as well. i feel this is on going and i can see the response. what i am unable to see is the clicks. i am trying my best to have this clicks. but keep on failing. past few days i do not have any clicks at all after i changed my adsense color to red.
