    Well in theory they allow webmaster to set robot crawler rate. If you increase that rate , you can see increase in number of visit but that is not recommended for the site which don't update content frequently . on contrary they will take as a abuse . so better to allow google to set your own crawler rate .

    best way is to update real , unique content at regular interval with limited pings .

    Yes, increasing a bit the crawling rate for your site n GWT may help. Content update is a big help, as well as re-submitting sitemap or pinging your site.

    You can always help the bots get there faster by submitting your site to google, bing and yahoo manually yourself.

    If you want to cache your page immediately then the best solution is to ping the domain and make it updated with quality content.

    Submit site in 3 major search engines webmaster account with the sitemap. Also try to get backlink for high pr sites.
