Well let's say there is 1000 searches a day on the term "flowers".

If my site is placed #11 for that term, meaning, the first result on the second page, how much less traffic would I be receiving than being in the top 10?

How many people even visit the second page?

Are your pages really about flowers or are we just saying that they are? If not, I would say it depends what the search term really is. I think that people who search for different things will have different habits. If I'm searching for 'cheap flights' I get annoyed quickly and lose interest after the first page. If I'm looking for technical information then I'll look further, maybe 20 pages deep.

Maybe the time of year will influence searchers' habits, too. In February I'm sure that people searching for flowers will be more likely to venture onto the second page of results

Make sure your page title is an attention grabber so that, even if it is on page 5, it'll stand out and invite clicks.

Play around with your title tags and check back every 24-36 hours to see any changes. Pay close attention to the first few words of your title - make sure they're the most important.

From my own experience, being on page 2 of google brings little traffic. I myself rarely cick to the 2nd page. Keep bringing in the links and test your SEO techniques and you'll eventually get to the first page.

Many people will tell you that being in the top two or three results on the second page is actualy better than being on the last few results on the first page.

In general I have found this statement to be true!

From what I have heard 90% of people find what they are looking for on the 1st page.. Not very encouraging, unless you were back on page 10 and worked your way to page 2.. Forward progress... Take a look at the top 10 sites and see what you can incorporate into your site...:)

top 3 results get the major share of traffic and up to rank 7 its not bad rank8 and 9 get the least traffic then no10 same as rank 7 and rank 11 only attracts about 2-5% of the traffic depending on the term and searching habbits of that particular niche.

You will see a great difference in your traffic if you manage to get to page one :) .

    wish you luck.
