How much do graphic designers normally charge for packaging design? I'm planning to launch an organic skincare brand in 2011 and I'll need packaging design for products I will be selling such as 120g round soap bar, 8 oz body butters, 8 oz bottles of carrier oils to lip balm tubes to showcase my brand. What can I expect to pay for packaging design (low to middle range) for graphics only? I'm planning to utilize eco-friendly packaging to package my products in and I will source these containers from overseas suppliers to meet my minimum order quantities.

Depends, i usually charge between $100-500 depending on the package size and turnaround. Make sure whoever you hire has experience in packaging though! You can find one of my designs at wallmart and another in 7-11 :)

A lot will depend on how complex your graphics are (how many shapes, colors, etc) and how differn't each package is if they are all basically the same just different sizes you can save a lot of work.

You will want to hire someone that is good and will stick around and make sure that everything is going to print well.
