Do you have a subdomain of your main domain? I've seen that cause a site to appear as it's own referrer - the solution to that is to modify the code to allow cross-tracking over the subdomains

magda pointed to the issue correctly. You either have subdomains or the tracking script is corrupted.

Where exactly do you see the referral traffic? Do you use Google Analytics? Its a site referring to your site. The more you have the better for your site ratings.

Its because of sub domain links to index page, i think its not a issue i also experience that many times.

    Do you have subdomains?

Have you added the GA code for this domain only or used any other domain's? Check the account ID and profile index in the tracking code.

I see that, but the question is for the thread starter, who hasn't explained the situation of the site yet!

Be patient, I see that you have already mentioned the possibility of subdomain. I do not have any questions with that. :)
