"A website aimed at recruiting 50,0000 fans to take over a football club has attracted over 13,000 members in the fortnight since its launch.

MyFootballClub wants people to pay £35 in a bid to raise £1.4m to buy a team, with each member an equal partner.

Members will have a vote on transfers, player selection and all major decisions affecting the club."

I've joined up at the site so far, not convinced if I will pay the £35 membership fee when 50,000 members have joined! It could be fun but I'm not convinced that we would get much of a say in the running of the club... I would like it if we could get money back if the club does well though :)

I've just read that these guys have now bought a football club - Ebbsfelt United in the Conference. Way to go!

I think it's an awesome idea and it could be the future for lower league clubs - there are so many struggling to make ends meet. I support Oldham and what we wouldn't give for a couple of million quid to spend every summer!

probably won't be the last time it happens either - there are other people out there diong a similar thing. I've just signed up for thepeoplesclub.com and I'm trying to get a load of Latics to vote for Athletic as the club to buy
