How to set own nameservers.......?? like... ns1.mywebsite.com ns2.mywebsite.com ns3.mywebsite.com if my website is mywebsite.com............ my domain is registeres @ Yahoo........
You need to have a pair of servers a primary and secondary nameservers where you install programs such as Bind or Windows DNS. You then register the nameservers together with the IPs with your registrar and basically thats it.
Go set CNAME: ns1.yourdomain.com and point to your domain IP and same for ns2.yourdomain.com Will take up to 48 hours for the DNS to get active. You can do that like this: Go under Domain control Pannel at: http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com Now click: Domain Control Panel Then click: Manage Advanced DNS Settings Then click on: Add an A or CNAME Record and the you will see two fields: Source: .yourdomain.com and put: ns1 on the source Destination: trype your HOST IP Now click "Submit" Now go back to: Advanced DNS Settings and Click on Edit "CNAME Record" and under Destination: trype: ns1.yourdomain.com and same for ns2.yourdomain.com Now go to UNLOCK your domain and set NS as: ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com NOW LOCK YOUR DOMAIN AGAIN! Well, that's it, will be live in no longer than 48 h if you do it like I say, if you still have problems PM me and I will guide you via YM. Good luck! Robert
