    I am living in a rented house. I don't like the situation, but unfortunately buying a home is just too expensive here in Australia. I'm not poor, but I'm not rolling in it either. Also, I'm in my forties - not ancient, but my working life is half over. Buying a house is such a huge commitment, you'd want to get started on it as early as possible, I believe.
