As I've read in many places a lot of people recomend for keywords information Yahoo Overture.I started using that tool, and I've found a niche that Overture says that has about 10.000 searches/month.Ok after a while I've got #1 on Google for that keyword. After waiting a month I've got about 50 users coming to my website from that keyword. So 50 is not even close to 10.000.There is a big difference. Something like this is also discused here. Now I want to know from other webmasters if their searches with Yahoo Overture were correctly, or near that number. And if not ...please suggest me a tool that can help me determine the right traffic for a specific keyword. Thanks
It was the same for me! I ranked very high on a keyword that was searched about 4500 times/month and still i just got about 5 visitors a day...very annoying!
I found some information on this subject here.Maybe will help others. http://www.wordtracker.com/articles...erent_keyword_results_provided_by_overture_a/
That's an interesting article. I've heard that overture results are skewed also. The keyword tool I've heard recommended the most by top SEO gurus is Keyword Discovery: http://www.keyworddiscovery.com/ although it doesn't distinguish uppercase and capitalization only singular and plural. Also, testing the "keyword" example as discussed in the wordtracker article, Keyword Discovery is showing numbers that seem very inflated ~ 15000 for "keyword" predicted daily. That's even higher than overture. I've found it to be too high for other terms as well so maybe I'll have to go back to Wordtracker.
