Just looked at a number of keywords in Overture, which is showing March data right now. The numbers are WAAAY off compared to Feb. data. For example, in Feb. 235366 searches for "online stock trading" fell to 84242 and the same goes for just about all the other keywords I looked at. What's going on here???
I noticed the same thing for different keywords in my industry is down by about 80%. Does anyone know why?
yea, it really scared me at first when i saw the decline, i thought my industry was just dying ...but i guess it's just an error.
Not very useful. They are not even really supporting it anymore. No reason to - it's not a profit generator. They will probably replace it for paying advertisers soon. The data has never been very accurate. I wouldn't use it for anything more than the most general of trends.
yahoo ain't so popular these days, I get more than 10 times less traffic from yahoo than Google. Yahoo is dieing - Google rules
I think there is some problem.overture results are not too much accurate.please check this link:www.digitalpoint.com
Many of the free tools on the web pull data from Overture. I just checked today and all of the results I track are about back to where they should be. I wonder if it was just because last month was tax month here in the US? More people cramming to get their taxes done instead of searching the web? That could affect results alot. I also noticed that the results that Overture has been showing the last couple of days are now in order of the search query instead of just showing the words per line in alphabetical order. In any event, I am glad it is back to normal.
