    Hi Guys,

My first post in this forum ...

My first question is ... is there anyway to use the overture keyword tool to get the results for previous months? At the moment when i search i get april 2006 and im trying to get hold of the same results but for Jan, Feb, Mar 2006?
    Any suggestions ...

I second question is a bit more detailed....

Ok - I used overture keyword tool and run out a report for the most searched phrases in my industry ... I rank really well on lots of these phrase but i like to keep a eye on what people are searching on ... to my amazement my last report (April 2006 results - run yesterday) i noticed that my web site name is coming up as the 11th most searched phrase in my industry !!!!
    FANTASTIC ... :D
But before i get to excited i want to make sure this is right ... are there any other tools out there like overture ?
I used wordtracker and it didn't show up my web site phrase as a suggested keyword ?

What can i do to see if people are really searching on my web site name.
Its not a name you would type in unless you knew it.

So overture says its a well searched phrase (85k for april 2006) but wordtracker did not even suggest/list it?

    Suggestions - advice?

    Thanks in advance.

Welcome darrens, I believe there is no perfect tool to use in researching keyword volume, and Overture tool is not an exception. The more tools you use the more confusing it becomes. Wordtracker and Keyworddiscovery are both fine tools. I am using Keyworddiscovery.

Also have a look at the Google adwords Keyword tool.

It is as confusing as the others but gives you another source of information. One slight drawback is that it gives volume in terms of high, medium and low - not in absolute numbers.

If I had to choose between Overture and Wordtracker for data accuracy and integrity, I'd go with Wordtracker. :)

Remember that Overture only monitors searches in Yahoo! and related searches while WordTracker and Keyword Discovery provides a "consolidated" count of all searches in various search engines. So unless you want to focus on the search volume on Yahoo!, you may want to consider those two mentioned programs.

I use three tools to judge keywords.
    Overture
    Wordtracker
    Keyword discovery.
