I was just wondering what peoples thoughts are in overlapping words in domain names. For example would a word something like 'testreet.com' have any influence on SEO if the keyphrase was 'test street'? It is just something I thought of and was wondering what other peoples thoughts on this.
It depends on domain name, the domain name like this may be valuable; "brithotels".com "britfashion".com
"testreet" and "test street" will be treated as two different keywords i.e. testreet won't be treated as test street. Regards, Shailendra
That trick isn't going to work unfortunately. If you are targeting "test street" as your keyword you'll likely get credit for having the word "test" in your domain... possibly credit for the word "street"... but you definitely won't get credit for having both words. What will likely happen is that once they start at the beginning of your domain name and match "test" then they will look at what is left ("reet") and will find no match for any other keywords from the search phrase "test street". If teststreet.com is not available then you're much better off going for teststreet with some other TLD (.org, .net, etc.) or going with the hyphenated version like test-street.com than to try to overlap keywords.
