I recently had my PayPal account compromised, and the thief charged $280. I managed to get my money back from PayPal, but now I have $120 worth of overdraft charges towards my Washington Mutual bank account. I called up WaMu and they told me that since it's not their fault they won't reverse the charges, and that PayPal are the ones who should reimburse me for the overdraft fees. I've emailed PayPal, but I highly doubt they're just going to send me $120. Is there any way I can get these overdraft charges taken care of?
I don't think a website dedicated to complaining about Paypal is going to solve his problem. Unfortunately if PP won't help you it looks like you might well be out of luck. Maybe you could just take it as a lesson in keeping your details and passwords safe on the internet. If it happened to you once, it could happen again unless you know exactly what went wrong.
Well, I called them and they said (as expected) that they wouldn't take care of it. I called my bank again, but this time I took a different approach. I decided to treat the charges as any other fraudulent charges and filed a claim for them. Luckily, I had a nice customer service guy. I didn't tell him that I was already refunded from PayPal and thankfully he didn't ask too many questions either (unlike the previous telephone rep). He said it'd take 5-7 business days for everything to go through; so, hopefully I'll get the charges knocked off. I'll keep this thread up to date for anyone else who might have the same problem as me.
