Overcoming the Google Slap?

I have a landing page that was performing really well, with a QS of 7-10 and recieving up to 800 clicks/day. 2 weeks ago I noticed a couple of mistakes on the page and quickly fixed them up. Almost immediately after doing so, google decided to SLAP me, giving me a 1/10 QS and a minimum bid of $13.

I really can't work out why I was slapped. I have all of the usual contact, privacy policy, about us, site map etc... and the content is all relevant.

It actually happened to another one of my campaigns a few months ago when, again, I made very miniscule changes to the landing page. However, this campaign was back up and running within 3 days and performing better than before. I have waited long enough for this current campaign to get back on track, and it has been so long now that it probably won't recover at all.

So, how do I overcome the slap? The page is made on Weebly, but I have my own domain. Will a domain change help? Anything else I should try?

    Any help greatly appreciated.,
    Brett

a domain change will help - but probably only temporarily. You say you have unique content - but is there 'enough' of it? Have a look through the Google quality guidelines and see if you have broken any rules... What was the change you made?

Perhaps Google doesn't appreciate any change to pages once they are driving such a wonderful hit rate for your site. I am curious to know as well what change was made by you!

What I've noticed is that when you first get a campaign going it can take off like a rocket because no humanoid is looking at it yet. Once they get their beady eyes on it, it is hard to tell what will happen. If your ad matches your landing page, you are normally ok, provided you have the Contact & Privacy pages. But...not always and that is what pisses me off. No 2 google humans are the same and we are basically at their mercy..Just make sure all your links are good and there are no 404's etc. Usually the bots catch those real quick, but not always.:)

Thanks guys :) All I changed was 2 or 3 spelling errors that I found! It is ridiculous that they slapped me for that.

I will get a new domain name, and change some of the content around, maybe that will help? I'll keep you posted.

you probably triggered a manual review for some reason or it was just a coincidence that a manual review happened at the same time - remember, coincidences always seem coincidental! You probable need more on your landing pages, relevant to your KWs - make sure you do this before your next url to avoid the same problem

I didn't think you could even use Weebly with Adwords because it was against Weebly's TOS. Something about you cannot advertise a weebly site.

Sorry I missed that the first time I read your post. So, moving to your own domain should clear that up.

    Good luck..
