Overall URL Uniqueness of your Directory Listings

As I look at sites like Odesk where there are many "SEO Firms" doing submissions, it seems there is a huge stream of non-unique data being submitted to a list of directories repeatedly. There are basically workers making less than $2/hour whose sole job is to submit hundreds of listings each day.

My question is what are some of you doing to make sure you have a unique line up of URLs being added to your directory?

And note, I am seeing people getting pagerank back that had lost it by doing just this.

Well there is no hard and fast rule. You have to make sure at the start of the project that you would want 100 unique links from separate domains rather than having 100 links from lets say 50 domains. Also you would want to make sure that the sites to which the submission is being done are relative and authentic and won't have a bad influence on your PR or placing in the search results.
