    Hello Everyone

We recently launched a new product about a month ago.

Here is what we have done thus far:

    1. Collected about 483 targeted email subscriber list

    2. Sent out 4 follow up emails automatically after user subscribes.

    3. Only 1 sale :(

So can any of you offer some good advice:

    1. is it too early to tell yet ?

    2. is a list of 483 target email subscribers too small to make judgement ?

    3. Is our product any good ?

    4. Our price is currently $97. Is that too high?

Any of your advice will be GREATLY GREATLY appreciated :)

You need to create a list and focus on each item.

Newsletters would be just one cog in the wheel.

    For instance,

    1. Submit to rss directories
    2. Create a Social Media Campaign
    3. Blog Comments on related sites drive traffi
    4. Press Releases -and then syndication
    5. Articles - and then " "
    6. Newsletters & Landing pages - Make visually stimulating, good titles, and a serious hook. You know the advertisements I'm talking about.. they virtually scroll down forever - never really showing you where the "Free download" link is until you've got carpal tunnel from holding down the down arrow.. :)

Make it easy for readers to sign up for RSS, digg, etc.
The more you appear to be an authority on your subject (an authority all over the web, not just talking about your site) the more readers you will get.

    Good luck!

You've done a good job of collecting leads IMHO (I'd be ecstatic if I got close to 500 email addresses in a month).

If you have the ability to do so, you could setup a poll of some sort and send it out to your list to find out what would make your product more appealing. You could also send out a limited-time offer at a discounted price to get people to bite.

Average conversion rate is around 1%. And at that price, along with the fact very few will pay that much for something like that, you may be be seeing the norm.

You also have to keep in mind that list you have may not be that good.

Why do you have very little info on the homepage?

How high is your bounce rate? How many are going on to the second page?

You have to keep these things in mind also.

    - so are you saying our price is too high OR is the product not good ?

    - we did not want to crowd the home page with a long sales letter. Taking a different approach here. Peole are tired of long sales pages that just look "scammy"

    - According to google analytics bounce rate on our home page is 24% .. site average is 68% ... good or bad ?

Thanks so much for your input

I do not know if the product is good, but as a researcher, marketer, and promoter myself, I know very few would pay that much for such a product.

Yes, I agree, long sales pages do not work, but, that info you have on the second page can still be combined with the first. The pictures of your packages make up over 70% of that page, so it doesn't matter if that page is at that length.

Try it as an experiment, then see how high your bounce rate is.

Many may be be backing on out, since it is very hard to capture their attention on the Internet in the first place.

We are a nation of lazy readers.

That is the main reason why squeeze pages do not work.

You need to give the people you sent time, and keep in good contact with them. Show them you're interested in their opinion/questions, and talk to them.

    1. Most ebook packages with resell rights out there are mostly crappy. Ours are of high quality and also our web templates are of high quality when compared to others out there. I mean if someone were to hire a web designer to create 20 similar designs it would cost well over $97. That's why our price point seemed very reasonable but we could be wrong.

    2. What price point in your opnion would be fit for this product ?

    Many thanks

It looks like you got a pretty good product and site as far as I can tell. I would suggest just giving it time.

I think you should lower the price. All the big boys out there started with $17 products. You should lower the cost to something like $47, but even with a small decrement in price, your conversions should jump.
And yes, youdo need a larger list.

Don't lower your price at all. Keep sending emails. Most sales come between the 6 and 12 email. Keep doing what you do best. Keep building your mailing list. The results you looking for will come soon enough.

Maybe a good idea would be to split test your price point with an offer attached to your next email newsletter to your list. That way you will let the market tell you what they think the product is worth.:)

I think your website is not focusing on what the user can expect to receive..I see your homepage is too vague to understand what the site is about. I click on moreinfo and I see the price first and then some general stuff..

Instead of doing it this way, rewrite the whole site in such a way that as soon as you enter the main website, you talk about these things:

    1) What an ebook seller needs to succeed
    2) What are the challenges in achieving them
    3) How you can help them
    4) End it up with a call to action - by saying i offer the following freebies till Sep 30 or so..
    5) Finally the price with a blue underlined link to make the purchase.

Yes, we have had some internal discussion about this to improve the flow of the product details page. What we want to avoid is looking like all the "long sales letters" that most people have in this niche ... they just look too much like a scam so we do not want to overdo the "sales pitch" so to say ...

But you make some EXCELLENT points !!! thank you

I have a question, are these emails you gathered from a third party emailo service or did you collect them yourself?
