So, I'm seeing over a 100 clicks (a day, everyday) in a matter of 5-10 minutes from the same IP and the referring url showing the same adsense publisher id.

Anyone know if google catches fraud like this automatically? I sure hope so.

I'm also seeing some other obvious cases of fraud though not as bad! :( Just wondering if google will catch this automatically or I should contact them with my logs and stuff?

Normally they filter this automatically. (serveral clicks from the same IP)

But anyway contact they using the contact form to be sure that the adsense guy will be banned.

You shouldn't assume that Google is not as smart as the cheaters. Go search the Adsense forum for "kicked out for no apparent reason" and you see how quickly guys that "just clicked on my site's ads a few times" get kicked out. You also shouldn't assume that the whole content network is bad (I assume you think your MBA Options site is a good content site that others should run ads on  ).

Adwords allows you to set default prices for search and content network ads. I'd set them both a little lower than you are comfortable paying. It most cases I end up bring the bids up to the same level because I see good return from both. The may be due to the fact that I don't focus on the areas that every buddy tries to make their fortune in like mortgages, online degrees, credit cards, dating, travel, etc.

agree with tbarr60 and also search network has fraud also.

I think that search network has more fraud compared to content netowrk nowadays due the search netword cpc is higher compared to content network and the adsense guys knows that.

Even if google is smart and does gets on cheaters, its not upto them. I have personally seen and reported (as a adwords customer) so many scrapper, adsense-in-popups sites. However its just not possible to keep up with them, I gave up reporting later. Again when I reported normally (without adwords login), no action was taken against these sites.

So, even if google is smart they are not upto cleaning up adsense content network yet, and as a adwords customer one needs to be smart about where money goes.

Good option is to target a specific site which 'you' has personally reviewed and has faith in.

By the way, my view as adwords customer doesn't change, even if I am also adsense publisher :)

Block the url/site from displaying your ads.

Go to Tools > Site Exclusion in your AdWords interface.

There are too many sites to keep blocking, which is why I hope G automatically protects against fraud like this.

Restrict at most the countries for your campaigns to reduce the % fraudulent clicks.

G has a lot of filters to capture these fraudulent clicks and has invested millions until now. The system is not perfect but is very reliable.
