So I'm trying to make life in general better by calling out these profiteers. Why should I get over myself? Maybe they should get over themselves, and resign. To quote GB's favorite philosopher, “The Poor You Will Always Have with You...†This doesn't mean you don't try to make things better.
Briant, since making a profit is a bad thing, when will you be coming to work for me for free? I'd like you to: Mow my lawn Trim my hedges Wash my windows Clean up my garage Polish the bumper on my Chevy Sweep all the rocks in front of my driveway over to my neighbors driveway Put down some insullation in my attic (summer is almost here!) Unca GTech doesn't put up with any bitching, whining or moaning. No "momma's boys" over here.
I never said you should never try to make things better... and to quote Bush himself: "Haven't we already given money to rich people? Why are we going to do it again?" Don't try to pass off a the words of a Philosopher Bush happens to like as Bush's own words. You make it out to seem as though Bush is simply looking out for the wealthy and couldn't give two cents about the poor. War is all about profiting. Some sides profit by being able to spread their religious message. Others, as was the case in the crusades, profit by garnering more wealth... And then some simply profit by assuring peace and longstanding civility in the world. It's war. That's what its about. Your posts simply are made in an attempt to prove that America is money hungry and that we only are in this war for some monetary gain.
Most people are paying for this war. As is usually the case, a small percentage make the money. That's the real point.
So if you were making more money on the war, you wouldn't have an issue? You're just upset that you aren't getting a piece of the pie?
Well I suppose then, all industry should be shut down. Capitalism is evil, and any profiting of any sort should cease immediately. Sure, people are profiting from the war... but it's on both sides. And sure its a horrible thing to do, however don't make this out to be a one sided thing. There are two parties involved in this conflict, and its a small percentage (as you yourself have stated). I gauruntee you that this small percentage is only profiting as a direct result of corruption, something that is prevalent in nearly all orginazations. I believe that this thread was started for nothing more than another "This is why the war is unjust!" claim, without of course having a look at the bigger picture. I gauruntee you that if he had a cut, we would not hear a peep
Actually it's not logic at all, it was a hypothesis. You've heard of those, right? I'd say you were more of a war profiteer enabler. Work with me here. You are a devotee of alex jones. There's no use in denying that...Ray Charles could see it if he were still with us. alex jones uses current events, either real or imagined, to come up with altered reality to dish out to young angry white males with low IQs and low self-esteems who are not capable of thinking for themselves. alex jones uses events, like Iraq, to portray the US as always the bad guy. Never a bad word for terrorists. Gullible people like you give him support and/or money. So he profits off the war. Even worse, he profits extensively off 9/11, by attempting to absolve terrorists of their crimes. How low could one go, to make a dollar (millions of them, at that) off the deaths of fellow countrymen? Aren't you ashamed to be that kind of person?
I don't know since don't listen to Alex Jones. I will tell you that there are plenty of people who take advantage of the anti-establishment shtick and make a nice living at it. You could argue that nothing is wrong with it per se, but I have seen people selling books about how the FDA sucks and how you should by their herbal remedies instead, etc. I take it based on the merits, if someone offers a good product fine; but If they trump up things to make a profit, they are just feeding off the establishment corruption. For example I don't begrudge this guy his book profits: http://www.thenation.com/doc/20051010/scahill As for 9/11, I don't know what happened, but it is public record that the FBI had an eye on these guys before the event, that there was insider trading, and that there were NORAD drills ahead of time, and that other governments knew something about it ahead of time. Yet on 9/11 the US government, which spends billions on its intelligence apparatus couldn't stop these guys. So without any need to invoke an "inside job" or any sort of collaboration, it's clear that the administration was at least derelict in its duty.
