I think outsourcing and offshoring is killing US. We need to band together to stop this. Join the community of tech workers working together to fight offshoring and take our jobs back!! http://www.OffShoringSucks.com
Offshoring isn't bad, but paying the employees they're local minimum wage is bad. We have several offshore workers but we pay exactly the same as if they're employees from my own country. We even insure them for healthcare. The underpayment of offshore employees is bad.
i see no problem , they work just like everyone else. its not outsourcing that sucks , it's greedy business owners who strictly hire them and pay them minimum wage.
Well, first of all 99% of employers ARE paying way less when they offshore, that's the whole point in doing it. BUT, even if they paid the same wage, it's still not ok. Do you know that many companies offshore the processing of sensitive information. They are sending all of your private data offshore which end up in the hands of non US citizens. You're ok with that?
Any example of such company sending out such data?? (and the data includes what? Street Address? SSN? CC no? Credit Report?)
it is fantasy, can I work for you? I from china. I can find talent and experts for you.. seriously can I work for you?
And what makes you put up an Indian heritage sport (read The Taj Mahal) with a strike, as your logo ? Is offshoring only done to India ? I am pretty sure, this is another initiative to make some cool money. From your site, As I said, nothing but a racist stunt.
Since the world has opted for globalisation this outsourcing/offshoring is inevitable. Work and services are outsourced as poorer developed countries can do the work for cheaper. The benefits of which include cheaper product and services for the US, and also more profit for the business owners. A result of this is slowly the developed countries will grow stronger and prices will go up. This can be seen in Asia, where once China was the cheapest for manufacturing, this is changing as new more competitive countries are sprouting up (i.e. Cambodia). This cycle continues until developed countries that do the outsourcing are at a level similar to that of e.g. th US. Then it no longer becomes competitive to outsource, and more work will start to be sourced locally rather than overseas. Can't see why it's hurting US though, are you prepared to paid double for your products/services just the jobs in your country?
It may be bad for the US programmers but it is surely good for nonUS programmers to work for US clients. And I think that if it would have been bad for the economy it would be forbidden by now. Take for example RentACoder. Nobody stands to stop it. It even gets money from outsourcing projects to people in the least developed countries
My personal take on this is twofold: 1) Since all the biggest corporations, with VERY deep pockets, including the best lobbyists and probably the most awesome perks given to congresspeople are pushing for outsourcing, the chances are not very big that it will be stopped. 2) Outsourcing is actually only a bad thing for US employee types. I've figured all kinds of ways to make outsourcing work for me, and US customers have the benefit of cheaper prices, while people in (mostly india in my case) have opportunities to participate in the digital economy, and make much more than they ever could before. So the question is, are you an employee, or a business owner? Willing to take a risk, and create something? Or are you going to wait for the government, a union, or your mom to provide it for you? Whatever you decide, outsourcing is a global trend, really beyond the ability of any government to control, so I suggest you find ways to use it to your advantage......
If the ceo of the business is ok with it , why would you not be? Why don't you go the whole 9 yards and tell them how to run their business lol.
I support outsourcing in any way. But most of all because the poor countries gets more money, I like that. Secondly I get cheap content on my sites
Me and my partner had a f**king nightmare with one company from the Philippines (it was well documented at NamePros and we got a full refund eventually) but I don't think outsourcing should be banned (it never ever will be so it's a bit irrelevant actually), if these people had produced exactly what they said they were going to then it would have been a great price compared to companies in the US and UK who always take a few too many coffee breaks. Some are shonky, but that's only a small amount. Most are pretty good and very hardworking compared to their lazy western counterparts.
