Hi, I have several companies who want me to realize their online projects. I could do this on my own as I have experience in PHP and other web technologies but I don't have the time for all such projects. I know about sites like scriptlance, getafreelancer, rentacoder... and already spoke to some companies there. Anyway I just get a really bad feeling if I check a company that might even have a lot of good reviews but half of the links in their portfolio is broken, all their sites are still table based or look weird in Firefox. The projects I might realize / control the development are pretty extensive scripts that would also need a team for ongoing development. I would really appreciate if I could get some advice and recommendations of people who worked on such projects with web design companies from anywhere in the world. Sure, a decent price is important but as I am a web designer myself I have high expectations that many companies on freelance sites could not fullfill judging by their portfolio. Any recommendations where else I could find such a company if you don't know one that you worked with are welcome as well. Thanks a lot, Jay
Hi Jay, My company does the kind of stuff you're looking for... I've visited Getafreelancer too (to see if I could pick up any extra work) and it bugs me too how poorly most of the work is done there. My niche is high quality work, not ultra-cheap ultra-fast ultra-poorly-done work. Some of my clients have hired me to start projects from scratch (www.digitalbooksack.com, northpointca.digitalbooksack.com, bcsca.digitalbooksack.com) and I've also worked improving code and sites that are already largely done. I can provide more portfolio examples if you'd like. Most of the projects I currently have are ongoing work (some of them I've been working on for two years) like you're asking. We specialize in PHP/MySQL work, and I make sure all our products are good in and out (PHP code, database structure, CSS and HTML, down to content). Anyway, let me know if you're interested Best of luck, Josh
What I can recommend is broadening your concepts. If a site is using tables, that does not necessary means that they cannot code CSS and browser compliant websites, moreover, not all people use or like FireFox. I have seen many "major leagues" companies using tables in their designs because that's the format they have opted for. Internet Explorer remains as the top web browser, and most graphic designers dislike FireFox due to its limitation with "cosmetic features" supported by IE, and necessary for their visual art. Anyway, DigitalPoint is a good place to find people who meet your criteria, so check your post back and browse forums such as "Content" and "Services" inside the Buy, Sell or Trade category.
Hi Jay, I recommend you www dot techages dot com, I have been working with for past two years and they are very energetic people... I had been involved with them fro my online personal shopping project (which is deployed at www dot savefinder dot com , you can see their PHP expertise there) I guess you would be able to see and judge them by having a look at their projects and graphic designing portfolio… Hope this helps!
