Outsourcing custom website design, what about upgrades later on?

I have a website project. It's a video/images website with a paid and free member sections.

Planning on outsourcing it with requirements but let the programmer code from scratch or use whichever framework they want.

My concern is with the upgrading and adding features. How can I make sure that when it's implemented that I would be able to find other people that can maintain and upgrade it without major issues? I do not want to have to rely on the programmer that did it.

My concern is that people always hate upgrading code, is there a simple methodology that is easy for the programmer to implement to make it easy to upgrade?

Well this is a good way of thinking of upgrading the websites later onwards. Just for your knowledge being a programmer I can say is that whenever the website looks are changed there are some templates files that are changed. you will have to find another person who is very much into playing & understanding the template file. then it will be a lot more easier for you to work on. and for any queries you can contact me offline at

I would also suggest you go find other flexible programmer and Onlinejobs.ph is a reliable source since Filipinos are hardworking and they do not worry too much of upgrading codes since they've always been used to it through a lot of experience. I've got one in place and yes, we've been upgrading a lot - plugins, bug fixes, maintenance, etc - state it but he does make all possible. I'll also add you look for this candidate's other areas of expertise in programming that'll surely make his work a lot easier himself. :)
