I am planning to outsource articles , some people suggest India what do u say and what't price ? any suggestion would be hugely appreciated
The average quote from Indian writers including myself will be around $10 for an 800 word article. If you can't afford that much, then try Philippines writers who have been known to quote $3 for a 450-500 word article.
Price = very good. But content = so so. Most indian writers I have worked with provided so so content at low price. If you want to build up lots of content quickly at the lowest cost possible, go for them. Obviously you can find some gem if you try hard, but usually if they do have the skill they will charge pretty high.
One of the biggest risks in hiring overseas writers is the risk of copyright infringement. Make sure you know the laws where you live, and where the writer lives. For example, if you're in the US, you have to remember that rewriting articles is copyright infringement unless you own the copyright to the original or have a license (like PLR) that allows you to create derivative works. The cheaper the work, the better the chance you'll get a rewrite which may be illegal where you live (and if you do get sued, you may have a difficult time turning around and suing the writer over it if they're in another country). That's not to say you shouldn't work with writers overseas. Just know the rules where each of you are, and make sure there's a way for you to legally pursue the matter if there are contract or other legal issues.
That cheap content might be alluring, but wait til you're stuck rewriting every other line. I personally am willing to pay more so I don't have to do all the cleanup--and I'm not just talking about the outsourced-to-overseas stuff here, either. Cheap Americans caused me plenty of headaches the few times I've hired them. Here is a small sampling of the crapola I got for my cheap writing labor--five dollars per 300-500 words: "The main issue was the process of determining who exactly was at fault in an accident and who was legally as well as financially responsible became increasingly time consuming." GIBBERISH! Me, I'm paying the extra money so I don't have to clean up THAT nonsense. J.
Each time Iv'e hired an Indian writer it's been a major rewrite job - for articles and content in English you either have to hire a native speaker or be prepared to overhaul the finished work. In saying that Indian and other non-native writers have their place in the grand scheme of things. Especially good if you have a ton of content to get out pretty quickly, because what they will give you is basic ideas and seeds of fresh articles to rewrite yourself.
then what abt the quality , can u give me your word abt that? so i got u mean , it is not a good idea to oursource to india if i want both the quality and fair price right? right, thanx jhmattern, it is a very good and essential warning i'm appriciate that very much well, i will put that into my consideration too thanx anyway so it is your experience with indians?
Outsourcing is a part of IM, and an inseparable one indeed. The problem with outsourcing to India (I am an Indian writer myself) is that everybody thinks he/she can deliver everything- which is wrong! If you are outsourcing, you need to ensure that you are doing it to the right person/company. As someone pointed out- you might find a "gem" somewhere. The bottomline- do your research before you decide to hire an overseas writer (or a programmer, or SEOer or whatever!) than burning your fingers later and rolling out such threads!
If you are really looking for a quatity than I suggest that native speaker can give you the better quality than Indians and if you are looking cheap then go for Indians.
Be careful!!! As many folks have already mentioned. The quality can be diabolical, and you often have to check if the work's original before you can use it. You might want to ask for writing samples and a reference/testimonial first, before you use them. It's well worth paying more for high quality content from an English speaking writer. You have to remember, people will be reading your articles. If they suck, your visitors are less likely to come back, subscribe, buy, or even stick around and click on your links. I hope this helps. If you're cost conscious, and can take a few errors in your article, then you can get some decent writers here in the content creation section. Your own English (@ neekyme) doesn't seem very good. Be careful when you outsource. You could get ripped off by people who claim they "have perfect English" when in reality they cannot even string two words together.
Chris, I don't think it's so much an issue of whether he cares about quality, but whether he'll KNOW if it's quality writing. If you do not understand the language your articles are written in, you're going to have a very hard time figuring out if it's decent writing or a crummy job.
I prefer to stick to born and bread English (or whatever language you want) speakers/writers, though that's no sure thing either these days. In fact if your own writing is anything to go by I doubt you'd notice the difference, unless you're one of those odd people who likes to type text speak forums because you think it will save your phone bill?
I've got a team of 4 writers I've hired that are from India and they offer exeptional quality. During the hiring process I did have to weed through some sub-par writers but I've had some great results hiring people from India.
That sentence makes perfect sense Shows you where your head is. Do you think people have perfect english? Nope you bet not...because if they did they would originate from England and hail from the Shakespearean era. The only problem I see with that sentence is the last little bit but it reads right. Even the online grammar checking sites find absolutely no problem with it. So in this case... bleh... you must want a live Shakespeare to write for you.
Um.... that sentence actually does NOT make sense. I'm not about to take the time to break it down into bits and pieces for you because I'm not a teacher and I have no patience when it comes to that. However, the fact that you feel that sentence makes sense Sarah scares the crap out of me. What do they teach in school these days?
