I have heard that if your site has many outbound links that it's bad? Could someone tell me why? What's the damage it can cause my sites ( they do have pr )

    Thanks.

Too many dofollow outbound links leak your PR of that page. It doesn't matter if they have PR or not.

    DON.

Linking to some relevant, authority websites can be good - though big blocks of links are bad.

I wouldn't have more than 5-10 per page. If you require more, make them NoFollow.

Also, having them in-text rather than just a large list is much better. Especially if the list is under a name like "Ads", "Links", "Sponsors", etc.

    Hello Friend,

Yes, outbound links are very harmful because search engine give more importance to our partner link.

If it's a 302 redirect and the redirect page is rel="noindex, nofollow" then it's fine.

    How do I do that?

    I'm currently linking to a "redirect.php" that uses header("Location: " . $var); $var being the site http://bananasite.com/

See the Meta Redirects at the bottom of this page.

Note the timing - 0-1 second is a 301, over 1 is a 302. I recommend a 302 (and then show a message such as "Redirecting you: click here if the page does not refresh ...").

    Also above the head, include:

    <meta name="robots" content="index, follow">

These pages are handy if you use affiliate links at different points across your site (you can then change them all at once just by editing the redirect). However, if it's just to escape a penalty from the search engines, this is probably overkill: just use a rel="nofollow" tag in your link code. Ie:

    <a href="http://www.link.com" rel="nofollow">External Link</a>

Keep it on mind with just 50 outbound links, that was maximum

Google judges a website’s value, in part, by its outbound links. Low quality links (links to bad neighborhoods) may lower rankings, or even get a website penalized or banned. It’s okay to have a few outbound links (not too many) but always make sure they are quality websites.

Outbound links aren't that bad -- it's about linking to authoritative and relevant content -- only link to a few places, not too many
