You astound me! I think it is fantastic that you are teaching, it is my dream to teach philosophy one day after my degree. I think it is fabulous that you enjoy having discussions with your pupils on religion, it is truly fascinating and it does shock me how little people appreciate a general philosophical analysis of a religion. Many people just follow in blind faith or understand very little.
    Thanks for sharing.

Interesting that your Wiccan friend is attacking Christianity. Isn't their central "commandment" An it harm none, do what ye will. I would think that he'd be a lot more accepting.

How can anything be older than christianity if the beginning is laid out right there in the bible...

Well.... that is unless Genesis is complete nonsense but that's another argument :D

Because Jews were first. And before the Jews were other religions. Oh, and Babylon was before all of those - and there are older societies we probably don't even know about.

Christianity came long after the Genesis of the Bible. Genesis was the beginning of mankind and Christianity came long after when Jesus was suppose to have come to earth as the son of God and God himself to offer salvation to the corrupt and sinful humans.

Good point Avarian! He is actually going against what he preaches. However I wouldn’t say that questioning is harming anyone.
