I think it is safe to say that I am out of the google sandbox. My main keyphrase is currently ranked 43 on google (up from N/A) and it is quite competative. I am of course want to keep pushing it up to the top. So what do you guys suggest I do now, should I just keep working of adding backlinks or should I get into the whole buying links scheme - looks like it is very popular from what I see in the Buy/Sell/Trade froum.
I would continue to get backlinks through exchanges. I have heard that you can get penalized for getting links too quickly (like buying a bunch). Keep getting backlinks and adding content to your site. You may also want to experiment with your home page text as well. Keep doing that and you will go up the ranks. IHMO
keep the content fresh add quality back links from relivant sources target your key words with anchor text
However - I would have to recommend a complete online marketing strategy - with a focus on balancing your available recources. Don't put all your eggs in one basket and don't hunt down just one term. >rt
Besides what is mentioned above (backlinks and content), I think this might be a good time to examine things like titles, metatags, text on the page and navigation structure/anchor text, as well as start to examine what other keywords you might like to target on subpages. Too often, people try to optimize for one main phrase or keyword, but fail to optimize any deeper than that.
