Out of 100 visitors, how many people should click on my adsense?

The title pretty much explains my question. I have had 200 unique visitors on my site and not 1 adsense click.

What should be the click through rate for a site worth working on?

*shrug* There's really no real and correct answer. I shoot for 1% on my sites and average just under that.

Maybe making a post in the Placement, Reviews and Examples subforum and asking for a review would be helpful:

Without seeing your site, it's kind of hard to make suggestions. Be sure to include a link.

It all depends on your placement, content type of site, many factors!

My click through rates vary. Overall it is about 5% but then some pages and articles have CTRs of 50% regularly.

Adsense is not hard. I'm doing around 20$ a day with 100 visitors and 10-20 clicks. The key is targeted traffic, you know :)

If you receiving fresh traffic then you must experience more than 5% CTR, with 100 unique first time visitors you must get at least 5 clicks.

Depends on where your traffic comes from. If those from Twitter, Stumbleupon and other social networks, even if you get 5000 page impressions, there might not be a single click.
If traffic comes from search engines, there should be a few clicks from 100 visitors.

I think 200 unique visitors can bring you 10 clicks on average. Of course, it always depends on your niche, ad placement and something other elements involved.

    why they should?
they will click only when they are interested on the ads appear inside adsense link or they have been mislead to click the link,as they may think the link is the content of the site.

There are a lot of variables involved.

But I think 2% is quite good.

    Use the large rectangle 336 x 280

Also set your text to large for your text ads and make sure the type of text font is the same as your site.

The blue link colour: #0000FF is quite good for the heading of your text ads.

    what a question...

    things that can affect clickthrough...

    1. content
    2. ad placement
    3. page loading time
    4. niche

no specific answer.. 3% is good
