Our secret LD tool :-) 10k quality backlinks in 10 days.

As software developers we found a great way to produce thousands of backlinks, thousands of visits to our site and hundreds of downloads of our software.

We produce Free Auction Software and our results led to over 10,000 backlinks within 7 days. We were also listed on many PR8/9 sites, many of which were .gov websites, very good links.

    The secret?

Just make sure that you leave a security hole in your software and it will be found and reported to all the security websites world-wide. It will be scraped and appear on 000's more sites. :)

In our case the hole was in some alpha software we had used as a test and not removed from public view.......... Ooops!

All safe now I hasten to add!

I agree with w3bmaster, it wouldn't be good to piss off all those customer with a known security hole would it ?

    Come on chaps!

I am not seriously suggesting you go out and do it. The last thing you need is to tell 5000 customers that your software had a hole.

That's why I put this, :) , in the title!

    Hi All,

Many people are making enquiries about this, so I need to make some comments to save you all pming.

No, I don't want to give out the name of the software to prove this. (I am sure it can be easily found; no prizes to those that find out.)

No, we won't modify your software to introduce a security hole.

No, you can't submit your software to us for us to test. (Unless you are willing to pay our hourly rates!)

No, we won't report to Secunia etc. your software having a security hole.

No, we are not going to tell you how to make a security hole.

Sorry if I do not appear to be helpful, but this was posted as a humourous story, nothing more.

Govt. Health Warning: Doing this can seriously damage your server, your customers and your reputation.

    Hi brutalisk,

I don't know of any online checkers. There are many security specialists who will check your software, for a fee!

I don't beleive in such shortcuts. Link Building should be a gradual process and has to be done with caution. Sudden increase in backlinks would surely harm your websites rather than giving profit.

    shab,

Sorry I didn't mention this earlier.

"Thank God someone realised it was meant to be amusing". I suppose it is a language barrier thing..................

Next time you go to the pub please invite me along, I am sure we would get on well!

PR 8/9 gov links? Hmm, is it just me or is the US or UK government not going to put an article on their home page 'MAJOR SECURITY ALERT - Some dodgy auction software has a security update. Please visit their website to download the latest version.'

Hm, nope, I'm not seeing it either.
