I haven't been here long on DP but I have noticed a large number of people going down the same path of Internet life. They come on looking for some quick and easy way to make money. It really isn't how it is though. If you click here you can read our latest blog post on the realities of making money on the net. Hope it's alright to post this here, just thought it would help some people make more sense of this cruel world.
quick buck is never bad, till you have a existing revenue stream. By the way, I liked your blog theme. Who designed that?
Hey Jim. True words indeed The whole website design/theme is our in-house work but the website was incorporated into a WP theme by Greg Findley who also also got the whole blog looking tip top.
Good blogpost. It's sad to see that so many people are only there to make a quick buck. Those that are making a lot of money are generally the people that are in for the longterm. They got a business, not a website or eBook or something. Making a quick buck is ok, but the highly competitive online market isn't made for that. Especially if you're selling 'how to make money' products! -Dave
Exactly Dave. I think there's a lot of Internet 'newbies' have a misconception that it is generally easy to make money on the net. Well it pretty much is if the money is a few cents Sometimes I really feel like introducing such people to concepts of learning some kind of profession or selling a good product which they can make a steady income from. The affiliate/adsense market is so saturated now it's actually more of a competitive field than some other normal buy-and-sell markets. If anyone has any opinions please feel free to leave a comment on the blog.
There is always a market for making money information, its definately evergreen... Look at all the late night infomercials. Making money online isn't hard you just got to follow the proven path.
Hey Jim (sspoldir), actually there is a market, but people that only make their money buy selling 'make money' products isn't the right way to go. Many of these vendors haven't even made a dime themselves, yet they sell a report on how to make a million bucks online. That's bad for the buyers and bad for the industry as it gets a bad name! -Dave
There's nothing wrong with making a quick buck, but after a while you should began to focus on more long term income in my opinion. Making money online is not really that hard if you know what you're doing.
If you know what you're doing... I think that's the key in all this. Almost all situations are different and require some variation but unless you have someone there to tell you what to do you have to learn it via knowledge and experience. This is what takes so much time, including the natural cycles and courses of business which can take some time also.
