I got a online computer repair related website that has a semi high traffic. From last night its showing 404 error to the viewers who are trying to access it from any other ip than mine. Its opening perfectly from my IP. Could any one cite any reason and possible solution for this headache. Its gonna pinch me big if I don't fix it quickly. So friends please help me out of this.

I use hosting service from 1&1. So I'm depended upon them in this regard. Has this happened from their end?

check your server error logs and see if anyone is really getting 404s and for what files they are getting the 404 error

    Hello,

The Error 404 "Page not found" is the error page displayed whenever someone asks for a page that’s simply not available on your site. The reason for this is that there may be a link on your site that was wrong or the page might have been recently removed from the site. As there is no web page to display, the web server sends a page that simply says "404 Page not found". In this case it is better to check logs which will show you what exactly happened.

Before asking us whats wrong with it, investigate it yourself.

1&1 gave you login details, they also give you a bit of access to error logs.

404 is a very basic error, if you built the site yourself you should know what this means - file missing.

also, check that you have not messed your index.html up.
