OSX is by far a better home/multimedia/office operating system compared to Vista. However, for gamers Vista definitely is the way to go.

OSX is a UNIX-like operating system like Linux.

Not necessarly many people who have used pc's for a while and they decide "i want a mac" so they go out and by one unfortuntly the interface is so different for them that they hate it

I have already mad the switch to Mac a couple of years ago. No more blue screen of death! I have been a windows owner since my first computer way back when, but I don't think I'm going to be one again any time soon.

Agreed. I just got a new laptop about 3 months ago and it has Vista Home Premium running on it, and I hate it! It frequently freezes, many programs crash, a LOT of programs can't even be installed on it, and it's very difficult to work with a local host connection and MySQL connection with Vista's overprotective security features, even with UAC turned off. I gotta say, I have been seriously considering moving to a Mac, but I am still not familiar with the interface and the Macbooks are rather expensive to just be buying out of hope that it will be better than Vista.

Still, it's sad that Microsoft has screwed up this much that there are times when Vista actually interferes with my work and forces me into the arms of Apple. I am just waiting for SP2.

Being a PC user for 10+ years I recently bought a new iMac 2.4 with 24" monitor back in Nov. 2007. At first I was a tad frustrated because it was like starting all over again, I couldn't find anything. After a cuple months now not giving up asking question's on macrumors forums I am happy I stuck with it. I know have all my recently owned sw converted to mac and just bought a new MacBook for my mobile use. There are still times where I have trouble and get frustrated, only because it's still new, but I am getting more and more comfortable with my new iMac. As far as OSX vs Vista to me JMO I like OSX far better. I did run Vista for a couple months but like most the incompatibility it has with so many pieces of Sw and hardware it was a big turn off. Besides riunning vista is like a clown juggling 50 balls at one where as OSX is like juggling only 5...

This is interesting I have never considered switching to OSX but
I guess it wouldn't hurt to look into it.

I would try Mac Os soon. But its like starting all over again yah. You can't really do things fast when you first use it. It's like you're a noob again.

Yeah, but after playing with my friends for a few hours its way easier to jump into than a PC. I just don't like the fact that its not super-compatible with all different kinds of software in the way that Windows is, but I think that when more people start using Macs, more software for them will come out.

Personally I'll take vista as there are more softwares out there and I can customize my own rig at a much lower price (and more powerful) compared to Mac. Though I do admit that Apple's stuff are more superior by programming nature compared to microsoft's. Stability too.

I like vista, I wont switch but the bad thing about vista is, you feel as if you need a new installation everytime something goes wrong.
