    isn't the new Mac OSX compatible with pc's??, anyway regardless you can actually get OSX working on a pc:p, the only issue you might encounter is the sound not working, depends on your hardware, sometimes you can get lucky. But yeah like many other people said, Mac's are expensive, and you don't get much for what you pay, thats why I chose to stick with a PC.

    After reading this entire thread, I've come to form many opinions. Totally agree with mark123456 about the crappy Apple tech support..I've had so many problems with those morons. PokerCardEnt, you're actually the stupidest person I've ever met..and I know a lot of dumb people (I'm Portuguese). Honestly, just back away from the computer and give up on life..ur pretty much destined to fail miserably at life. Worldman and The General both make some valid points...but i find it funny that they also make up the majority of the thread. All in all, whoever made this thread is pretty gay...and so is everyone that posts on it. Waste of life...HOMOS.

    I have a BS in IT and a CompTIA A+ cert. I just recently got my MAC Book Pro about 6 months ago, I used to try to argue with PC ppl but know I can care less which someone likes

    you either a PC or a MAC person...

    its like once you get MAC you'll understand, like gmail, gmail aint the same as yahoo or hotmail, but there's some ppl out there that hate gmail! and love their yahoo, go figure

    You are completely right especially about the ipod...on my old one the click wheel died and their response to me was you can send it in along with $300 and we can try to fix. Well for $300 you can buy a brand new one..

    A decent graphics card or a newer processor, perhaps?

    Since when did I want to? XP or Linux runs fine for me.

    Not if you want it to be put back together and working again. Those sealed cases really don't work well for upgrading. You never upgrade a laptop, even for a pc, FYI.

    Reports say otherwise. 9 days to replace a DVD drive? Unable to turn up at the right time to pick a laptop up? Parts failing days after being replaced? Great technical support they've got there.

    I never said it was, read my post. I was giving an example of one of the useless interface changes that Microsoft have made

    what is useless about that change. You the main problem. Tell me how many bad reviews Leopard got and it has worse problems than vista? People always like to gang up on a company when it is doing good.

    It did nothing but make shutting down more fiddly. Leopard got aweful reviews as well, mainly due to bugs. The actual features were fine, it was just shot to hell with bugs. I agree that it wasn't exactly a good show from Apple.

    Mac = a Fine OS
    Vista = a Fine OS

    It's all personal preference.
    I have a gaming computer with Vista installed, but I have a Macbook Pro arriving this week - why limit yourself to one company? I get the best of both worlds.

    One word: Expense. My current line-up:
    £1500 Dell Latitude D120
    £1300 Dell Latitude D420
    £700 Gaming Desktop (coming soon).

    That adds up, I really don't want to fit a mac in there purely for the OS.
