Ok so I got contracted on this job without knowing how hard OScommerce can be. I haven't really dived into but a few people have told me how hard it is to work with. I have a template I need to apply, how do I go about doing this? I found this- http://www.templateknowledgebase.com/after_sale_support/Working_with_osc/article2.html But seems like a bit of work just to install the template.
I found this http://www.themestock.com/InstallingOSCommerceTemplates.php to be a bit more understandable... and yeah, oscommerce is a train wreck. I would try to use zencart, its better, faster, and way more usable, especially if your client thinks he is going to manage his site. It is a fork of oscommerce. hope that helps. Nigel
No, you can't use oscommerce templates on zencart. But, you can grab zencart template, upload it, and call it a day. Its a piece of cake and much easier to deal with. Nigel
If ever the client don't want to switch, you can call me for your oscommerce needs. Most of my work are oscommerce and cre based. I also have experience with start from scratch, ecommerce websites. Let me know if you're interested and will be happy to help you. Regards, Mark
