    Hi

I am setting up an ecommerce shop and is looking at oscommerce.

How easy is it to use? Do I need professional help, I don't know much about php.

Can you recommend an ebook or link?

    Thanks

install on local server and test it. The forum is great. You can also try zencart.

oscommerce requires mysql and php support. If he had all that on a local platform-- I do not think he would be asking how difficult oscommerce is to use. It would be a breeze.

Installing should not be a pain, rest all will be depending on your own understanding...If you have used somewhat online shopping type of scripts before, it might help.. I would recommend to study it before you start it as public as it needs to be secured in all the ways... or the customers can get scammed...

oscommerce is great...i set up a site using it in 2003 and we had over $200,000 in sales our first year. we had great SEO rankings and for free software, provided us with everything we needed for our business.

if you need help, their support forums are pretty good....

I find OSCommerce is a nightmare if you need to customize it.
