Orkut....

Hey,

I run a proxy network, and I was looking at my referrers.

A ton of my traffic is coming from www.orkut.com/CommMsgs.aspx

For those of you who don't know, Orkut is basically Google's myspace. It's a social networking site just like it.

However, I do not use it and don't know much about it. Is this CommMsgs thing a bulletin type thing?

And if it is....perhaps there is a new source of traffic to begin targeting.

Orkut is very popular in brazil and they use proxy to visit orkut(schools and work don't allow).

I just found out that now its avaiable for everyone, all that u need is a google account:

No, it doesn't work for me...it says invalid password when I try to connect it to my account.

Orkut doesn't need an invite. You can directly register AFAIk

No, orkut isn't famous as myspace and it's never gonna be.

 

Obviously it isn't. But that doesn't mean that its whole demographic should go ignored.
