PayPal rejected my refund claim, apparently it only applies to hard goods, not services. I've done my money and time.

Guess I'll just migrate my domains to a new host and whenever I get the opportunity, slag Jose Jnr online and call his Dad and complain.

I'm sure after 20 or so calls Jose's Dad will give me his Mom's number so I can talk to him direct and tell him how we feel. If you want his Dad's number, just PM me.

    Is this Jose?

Just left a message with his Dad again to contact us. All we want is the truth and our money back.

It's most likely not going to do any good because he will not try to resolve anything, but you could go to the BBB and file a complaint : http://nashville.app.bbb.org/filecomplaint

    Good luck to you guys.

    Robert

And yes it must be Jose. I can just barely see what looks like the server under his right arm.:p

I believe that it's "dame mi dinero".
    Not too shure though.

You could append "viejo de puta".

    Robert

EDIT: More important. Did you guys manage to get your websites rehosted ?

It is useless claim in paypal. The only thing they will do if they receive many complain is that his account will be restricted. But as he doesnt have funds in that it will do no harm to him.

Meanwhile you guys check this out. Maybe I can help you people to get your websites back online.

I see that the Jose's web host is back in service. I just did a tracert to one of his name servers: ns1.orionconn.com

It responded with the same IP address that he set my hosting account up on (host.orionconn.com [72.52.155.30].

I also note that he has been on the forum in the last few days. Maybe he's going to put things right, but I won't hold my breath.

WOW..Another scam at DigitalPoint Forums. Seeing this state of Jose's clients, Limespace would like to offer the 1st month to all his clients for $0.01. If anyone is happy with us, he/she may continue by paying :) (Btw, we are offering a shared account and not a reseller). If we could help in any other way, feel free to PM me and I'll assist you at my level best.

    Kind Regards,
    Monty

His server is up since last 2 weeks and he must have recreated our accounts if he was serious in giving us service but he hasn't done that. Neither he is coming online nor he is giving any reply to any of us here. That says it all mate ;)

Now I don't think that this hosting'll ever be back online, and even if it does I guess there will be no clients who want to come back after whole month of waiting... Just don't want to waste my time any more...

    Guys keep at it.
But get your websites up again. You can do so for free here :

    Free hosting without ads :
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1333586
    Code (markup):
    It's a thread I started sometime ago.
The only thing that these companies hope for is that you will eventually move to their paid for hosting plans.
It's a very good package and not a bad deal I would say. No ads, and no cost.
Take note, that the real hosting company of this free offer was hosting Geocities for Yahoo and some other Yahoo bits.

There are probably many others offering similar.

    Daily backups :

Amanda Network Backup or MySQL Backup (top menu). The Community editions are free:
    http://www.zmanda.com/blogs/

Backups are done via mysqldump, various snapshots, mysqlhotcopy or
MySQL replication. Depending on your configuration of MySQL,
ZRM selects the best way to do backups, but you can override and
select yourself what tool to use.
    Code (markup):
otherwise some of the usual stuff (random picks) :

    Crontab - Quick Reference:
    http://www.adminschoice.com/docs/crontab.htm

    Script and DIY:
    http://www.dagondesign.com/articles/automatic-mysql-backup-script/ http://www.falconsolution.com/free-php-mysql-backup-script/

    from cPanel:
    http://www.tareeinternet.com/forum/knowledgebase/219-how-backup-mysql-database.html

Some more scripts; select FREE from the drop down:
    http://www.hotscripts.com/category/php/scripts-programs/database-tools/
    Code (markup):

Still no news from José Alvarado. I guess he has taken our money and run. The good thing is that these posts will be saved and available on the internet for many years to come through sites like the waybackmachine.

With a bit of luck future employers and customers will search on José Alvarado and find these references.

Good luck José Alvarado of orionconn.com , you are going to need it.

You are absolutely right SQUADRON, 6 months back a guy visited my website and gave me few projects to do. He paid for some work but for other big project he didnt paid me though he got it done from me but ran away with my money, though the client already paid him for the job but he started making lame excuses and wanted me to still work for his projects. When I started bothering him for payment, he started ignoring my phone calls, not replying to my messages on messengers and not even replying to my emails.

One day when I was idle, I just google by his name and by his small company name and on one website I found feedback given by one designer guy whom he duped. But just like you, that guy also left his valuable feedback. I wished I would have checked that before it would have helped me being cheated by this guy :(

I guess it is better to do GOOGLE SEARCH if we decided to buy or sell something to someone. And if we are duped or cheated then we should leave our valuable reviews on different forums so that other people remain safe :)

Is the phone number you have ( on which you spoke to his dad) the same number as the one listed at domaintools under "Whois record" ?
    http://whois.domaintools.com/orionconn.com

You could also try the search box over at Justia : http://news.justia.com/
But be extremely careful, because there could be many men with the name José Alvarado.
Orion Connections is the full name for Orion Conn. Maybe better to search with that.

I wish you guys, good luck.

Yes, that phone number I tried is from domaintools. Unfortunately Jose Alvarado is a very common name, John Smith or Robert Johnson common :)

    That's a bummer!
Well if he's not living with his dad, technically the whois data is inaccurate.
So I believe who could be stripped of the domain name.
At least he would then not be able to rip off others. His company would have to under go a name change.
But maybe it's better to leave the domain with him, because then the information of this thread is still factual.

I hope this guy gets ripped off himself.
There is so much scum on the net.

    Robert.
