Original php script viewer ?

i'm in need to know about php script viewer.
actually my question is any software is there to view the original php script
my friend has some files like media.php in his website.
while viewing it in browser it converts that in to html.
i want to know the original php file without converting it to html

 

Its not possible to do that you can only view it if u have access to the server
