Is it that original content will automatically rank high with google? Do you have to implement alot of popular keywords in it?

Also, what content is actually original and who decides. If original content is ranked better then what happens if someone just copies your content? Does google differentiate which is copied content and what is original?

its pretty simple actually, original means unique and not dup content copied from other sites. if someone copies your content, then thats the person will be penalized for duplicate content as your site would have been indexed by google before anyone who copies

Oh this is cool, so google identifies uniqueness of what page it indexes first. That pretty much answeres my question.

Now, what benefits do you get for having uniqe content?

It is unique if you make it yourself and do not copy another site.

yeh i go that, mostly was just wondering if it stays uniques if someone copies from your website and what are the benefits of it being unique.

Also, How can you tell if something is unique? I know its impossible to have unique words or word conbinations its even hard to make up a sentence and it not already be somewhere in google search. So Does google track uniqueness by sentence, paragraph, or whole article?

Personally I would argue that it's near impossible for writing to NOT be unique if you do it all yourself without copying from anywhere else. The chances of you accidentally writing the same paragraph as someone else are phenomenally low, if not impossible.

For instance, just look at the few lines I just wrote, do you think there's a chance someone else has ever written the exact same things in the exact same order using the exact same words?

Ok, i could agree that this is uniques because its mostly opinion wise, but what about if you want to write about some factual information? For example: If im interested in assembling a motor, do some research on it and then I decide to write a blog or something on how its done. You have to agree that its impossible for it to be totally uniques since that step in assembling a motor should eb the same if you want to do it right.

Well yes, the information you put across may be the same, but the way you write it will be unique, you don't have to use all the same words in between the keywords like carburetor, fuel jets and tappets.

So its ok if i get a few sources and combine/addit them in one with changing some things around? Is that also unique?

To get useful unique content if you're sourcing information it's exactly the same as writing essays for school; you have to look up the stuff in the first place but you're not supposed to copy any bits verbatim, or make a mash-up of different bits here and there, but write what you've learned in your own words and, preferably, expand on what you've learned a little.

Lol, I used to write school essays by gathering up alot of info and mashing it up. hard to summerize yourself when you have such nice professional words in front of you. But I guess would have to learn now what i didn't learn in school.

Well yes, that's why I said you're not "supposed to" copy bits, because I know people do, and they often foolishly think their teachers haven't read the same stuff and get poor marks for their essays.

P.S. There's no such word as 'alot' - stop it now before it's too late! ;)

Well the way i did it, when i was in school, was to change complicated words to very simple ones that are school level. As for "alot", it is too late, but I do sometimes catch myself and type "a lot":)

I would not agree with that !

    Here is a scenario:

You have a 6 month old website and create a new page with all original and great content, than 2 weeks later an authority site copies your content....

You see where I am getting? - The content will remain original, but since the "authority site" has more "authority" than your new website, most probably G will penalize your new site and not the "trusted authority website".
