Organizing my website pages

    Hi everyone

    I am building a very large website using web expression .The site is a recipes and cooking site .My problem is I do not know how to organizes the pages to keep thing straight and easy to find .I have try folder but I did not like the way it come up on the ulr address example it come up it is to long. does anyone have any ideas

    If you are planning on making a really large website you should look into a CMS (Content Management System) backend to make things easy. E.g. www.websitebaker.org

    Another tip - don't use spaces in your URL's! Change them to _ or - to be safe.

    I honestly think the best approach is to have top-level categories, followed by one subcategory, followed by linked pages. This is a "folder based" approach, but with some fine-tuning you can keep the URL length down. Honestly, as long as you have a ton of high-quality content, it won't matter much. I've got URLs on one my sites that are 150 characters long (multiple subdirectories), but those pages still get a lot of traffic due to their quality and targeting. Good luck!
