When I first started link building I ran in ever increasing circles adding my sites to any directory which would take them. After awhile however I figured out that one reaches a point where you have to keep running faster and faster just to keep up with the attrition. Thats when I started our Workshop.

We offer home-grown organic directory links where we charge $5 to review a site. We wont do pharmaceuticals for love or money but will consider most other sites as long as they are not MFA, link spam or in bad taste and that comes down to each webmasters personal preferences.

I take on students, most of whom come from disadvantaged communities and we show them how to run a directory and to then build a theme site around it. We dont do PR and our sites are not much to look at but we work hard and if any of our directories do get trashed we will replace the links. They come with our personal warranty and a commitment to long term value.

    Cheers

I belong to this workgroup and am running Garden Route Kids . Whilst I am new to directories I have spent a fair amount of time on the internet and can see the potential of what we are doing. In my own right I am looking for sites that offer family friendly information and services but I am building a general directory and am charging $5 to review submissions from third parties. I wont accept gambling or adult content nor will I accept marketing material and promotional content.

do you plan to clean up the test pages ? these spoil the site. also your header font is not fitting into the top very well as the font seems to big.

Wish you well on your new project.

Everything will change. I am looking for sites to add to a section specialising in Recreation and Lifestyles. I also have to learn how to use the blog but right now my priority is to get restaurants and other business owners to start advertising in the local media and using the site to build a family friendly resource.

Eco Guides has started working on her blog and will accept site reviews containing deep links from web masters submitting their sites to her directory. She tried registering herself on the forum but her account has been sitting in the Moderators queue for the past two weeks.
