I had been experiencing increased organic traffic for the last 6-7 months then I went from 3,000 Google SE hits to 2,000 in 2 days, It dropped all the way down to 1,400 over the next week. Right now (2 weeks from the first drop) it sits at about 1,800 hits a day. How can I go from consistent growth to loosing 50% off my search engine traffic? I looked at recently added back links and I can't find anything strange. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on? Did Google make any changes around May 15th? Thanks for any help.
There is a useful information in the thread about updated Panda, Panda may affected you: https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/google-panda-whos-affected.2720732/page-2#post-18969292
I thought the latest Panda update came two weeks after the date he mentioned. Maybe I'm remembering that wrong though.
Some of my kaywords have moved up in ranking but it looks like overall i'm getting less traffic. I'm hoping it will turn around a bit, my sites only about 7 months old and it was going up pretty consistently until this. I mostly get traffic from long tail keywords though. It must have been this latest update. Can anyone confirm the exact dates of the update.
I thought the newest Panda up-date got a couple weeks after the day they stated. Possibly I am just thinking about how that wrong although.
Are you sure your website is still in Google. This could be an effect of Google Dance too. Did you build backlinks recently? If your content is unique, I am really not sure what exactly to tell you...
It looks like the new update just lowered some of my traffic. Probably because a lot of my content is very short and they want more long form content.
If your backlinks are ok and no spamming issues, you site should be ok. I will sugest you to check if your site is affected by Google manual action penalty or not.
