.org Domain Restrictions

Discussion in 'Domain Names' started by Special Ed, Jan 3, 2006.

I have a great .org domain that I want to develop into a commercial website with Adsense, membership fees etc… It seems most of the .orgs I visit are non-profit websites. Before I start building out this site, I want to make sure .orgs can be used for a blatantly commercial website.

In spite of the historic background as a domain for non-profit organizations there are no restrictions. Anybody can register .org domains.

.org domains are only for non-profit organization and porn sites, so unless you're one of the two...
