What is good with .org is one day when you have your own organiztion based by your domain and website you dont need to transfer.

I agree, go with the .co.uk. Especially since you live in the UK, just put a backorder on the .com if you want.

Also, if you really wanted a .com, Shady--Designs.com is available to register!

Honestly, ShadyDesigns doesn't sound good for a business or portfolio site. It makes people think you're a "shady" character. Honestly, if you saw that name of a business, would you do business with them?

Maybe think of another name for your portfolio site & stick with a .com, that's what I'd do.

I don't see anything wrong with Shady

If there was a business with the name shady in I'd go with them.

Their name would have no effect on my decision to go with them. Their SERVICE would.

There's eminem's brand SHADY CLOTHING and Shady records.

Doesn't stop anyone from buying from them

    I'm getting a .co.uk domain

.com ain't available for the name I want.

Sorry Shady but I would probably pass too. Unless the business or service came highly reccomended.
I just want to be honest and let you know what alot of people probably will think when they see the name. For a record company or a costum company or a DJ company, or something else, party/entertainment related.. yeah it works ok. But for a company doing the majority of it's business online, I don't think it is a welcoming name. It would be like the same to me as saying "illegal designs" or "downlow designs" or "black market designs"..

It is a cool sounding name, don't get me wrong. But I'm sure your visitors will be more cautious, unsure when thinking about using your sevices. Just because of the name.

I have the same issue with my name, GreenGambler. I choose it years ago, when I was new to online business. I'm sure alot of people dislike gambling and possibly assume I am not trustworthy because of my name. I can't change my user name here ... soo I keep it uniform on all forums in which I do business. But if I could change it here, I would and I would do so on all my other forums too. Basically I'm saying try to think a few years down the road, what you would like to see "Shady Designs" develop into and wether you would be happy with that name 5 years from now.

Yeah im not a fan of neither .org or .biz. If you can find a similiar .com I would go with that.
